Inspirational Quotes

"Nowadays young children spend less time at home playing with their peers and more time playing alone, graduating from educational toys to video and computer games."
Elena Bodrova and Deborah Leong

"The moment I decided to follow instead of lead, I discovered the joys of becoming part of a small child's world."  Janet Gonzalez-Mena

"....most joyful experience where I felt that everything in me was being called to teach....made me feel whole, creative. It was very rewarding."  Louise Derman Sparks

".....gotta take your ego out of it...not about you...it what's best for the child."  Renatta M. Cooper

 Just one more quote....

" We find these joys to be self evident.  That all children are created whole, endowed with innate intelligence, with dignity and wonder, worthy of respect.  The embodiment of life, liberty and happiness, children are original blessings, here to learn their own song.  Every girl and boy is entitled to love, to dream and belong to a loving "village."  And to pursue a life of purpose."
We affirm our duty to nourish and nurture the young, to honour their caring ideals as the heart of being human.  To recognize the early years as the foundation of life, and to cherish the contribution of young children to human evolution.
We commit ourselves to peaceful ways and vow to keep from harm or neglect these, our most vulnerable citizens.  As guardians of their prosperity we honour the bountiful Earth whose diversity sustains us.  Thus we pledge our love for generations to come."  Raffi

  1. Tamara-
I agree with your quote on how children spend less hours at home playing with their peers and more time in front of the video games. Its disappoints me especially when the parents don't understand why their children are so violent and aggressive, and why they don't know there ABC's.Don't get me wrong children can learn from peers. But when parents consider these sources as good babysitters,it's sicking.

Tamara you did a great job on your website thus far, keep of the good work.

  2. Great quotes! I really liked the one by Cooper. It is very true, its not about the teacher it is always about the student and getting the students where they need to be socially and academically. Also, the first quote caught my attention. It is sad that kids do not play with their peers as much. Children learn so much from other children. It is imperative as educators that we are giving them as many opportunities to interact and play with other.

  3. The quote from Janet is all me. I can lead all day every day, but it is harder to follow and do it well. I do enjoy it though, like being in the passenger seat of a car, you see and notice things you didn't have time for as the driver.
